顎式破碎機(jī)是靠可動(dòng)顎板周期地壓向固定顎板，將夾于其中的物料壓碎。兩個(gè)顎板都是長(zhǎng)方形的。顎式破碎機(jī)活動(dòng)顎板的擺動(dòng)可分為簡(jiǎn)單擺動(dòng)、復(fù)雜擺動(dòng)和組合擺動(dòng)等三種。
顎式破碎機(jī)根據(jù)給料口寬度來(lái)區(qū)分型號(hào)的大、中、??；給料口寬度大于600mm者為大型；300～600mm者為中型；﹤300mm者為小型。其規(guī)格以給料口寬度B和長(zhǎng)度L來(lái)表示，例如250×400顎式破碎機(jī)，表示其給料口寬250mm，長(zhǎng)400mm。
加氣混凝土廠通常采用中、小型復(fù)雜擺動(dòng)式顎式破碎機(jī)，尤以250×400型號(hào)居多。
